Bays batter A's on 105.1 The GOAT

The Sister Bay Bays scored in six of the seven innings played and batted around a couple of times in their 21-3 win Friday night against Baileys Harbor.

The Bays scored the game's first two runs in the opening frame thanks to a Tom Sawyer fielder's choice and a Griffin Cole single. Sawyer would push another run across with a fielder's choice in the third inning to make it 3-0.

The A's pitching would falter in the middle frames as Jace Johnson, Collin Strege, and Ben Johnson would give up 15 of the 18 runs scored in the fourth, fifth, and sixth inning. The Bays were able to draw a combination of seven walks and hit by pitches, setting the stage for some key hits by Spencer Krause, Cole, and Dustin Johnson.

Sam Forkert and Matt Hecht combined to shut out the A's for the games first six innings, striking out 11 and allowing four hits.

The A's would not score until the game was out of reach and the game would end unless they made a significant dent into the 21-0 lead. The A's would score three times in the final frame with Ben Johnson, Braeden Haines, and Jon Kordon reaching home on two hits and an error.

NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com and 105.1 The GOAT will be on the air this Sunday at 1 p.m. with the pregame show and 1:30 p.m. in West Jacksonport when the Ports host the Maplewood Mets.

Note: after further review, we miscounted a few of the runs in the middle innings. The new score is reflected in the story.
