Brewers drop series finale to Padres in extras

The Milwaukee Brewers completed an 18 games in 17 day stretch on Sunday with a little extra baseball as they fell to the San Diego Padres 6-4 in 10 innings.

Kolten Wong opened the scoring with the first of his two home runs in the bottom of the first inning to make it a 1-0. The Padres scored three times in the fifth to take a 3-1 lead into the eighth inning where Wong would come through again with a homer, this time with a man on to make it 3-3.

Jake Cronenworth delivered the game's biggest blow in the top 10th when he drove in three runs with one swing of the bat when he homered. Andrew McCutchen would single in Tyrone Taylor who was the Brewers' free runner in their half of the 10th, but they could not close the gap any further.

The Brewers lost three of four to the Padres and finished their lengthy stretch that included a doubleheader and no days off 9-9. For the first time since May 19th, the Brewers will have a day off on Monday before playing a pair at Tampa Bay.
