Mets claim pitchers duel on 105.1 The GOAT

Clutch pitching ruled the day but it was the Maplewood Mets that won the game Sunday over West Jacksonport 2-1.

The Mets got the first run of the game in the top of the first.  Kissinger got on base and was allowed to steak 2nd and 3rd base and eventually get home.  Their next run came in the third from an RBI from Wagner, bringing the score to 2-0.  This is the score that would remain for the majority of the game until the bottom of the 7th inning.  The bases were loaded for the Ports and one of the batters got hit by a pitch, walking in their first run.  However, they would leave better stranded and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

It was not for a lack of opportunities for both teams as the pitchers for the Ports and the Mets allowed base runners but were able to find opportunities to get out of innings relatively unscathed.

In other Sunday action, Kolberg drubbed Institute 20-1 while Washington Island took care of Egg Harbor 7-1.
