A seven-run fifth inning propelled the Milwaukee Brewers to a 10-2 victory over the New York Mets Wednesday night at Citi Field. Breaking out of a hitting slump, the Brewers took a two run lead in the first inning on a two-run single by Luis Urias and never trailed in the game.
Willie Adames had three hits and knocked in two runs to lead the Brewer attack.
Starting pitcher Corbin Burnes (4-4) went six strong innings and allowed only two runs on five hits while striking out eight with no walks.
The Brewers and Mets will faceoff Thursday in the rubber game of the series with first pitch set for 6:10 pm at Citi Field.
