With one swing of the bat, the Milwaukee Brewers added some padding to their NL Central lead with a 2-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday.
Corbin Burnes looked like the reigning Cy Young Award winner, tossing seven innings of shutout ball with two hits allowed and 10 strikeouts. Devin Williams and Josh Hader closed things out for the Brewers.
Miles Mikolas was almost as good, but a fifth-inning homer by Tyrone Taylor was all the offense the Brewers would need to topple their NL Central rivals.
The two teams meet again at American Family Field at 6:10 p.m.
