Rockers' comeback bid comes up short

After giving up a big run, the Green Bay Rockers could not muster enough runs to make it all the way back in a 6-4 loss to the Wausau Woodchucks on Thursday.

An Owen Jackson RBI single got the Rockers on the scoreboard first, only to see the Woodchucks tie it up at their next opportunity. The Woodchucks would put up five runs in what proved to be a decisive fourth inning. Tim Conway dealt the game's biggest blow with a home run.

The Rockers put up single tallies in the seventh and eighth innings but they could get no closer.

The two teams will meet up again Friday night, shifting the series to Wausau for a 6:35 p.m. start.
