The Milwaukee Brewers hit five homers and Corbin Burnes took care of the rest in a 19-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates Friday night.
Homers in the second inning by Luis Urias, Keston Hiura, and Rowdy Tellez helped put the Brewers up 7-0. A Rowdy Tellez double in the fourth inning drove in a pair to make it 9-0 before the Pirates scored a run on a wild pitch. The Brewers would pile on in the eighth inning with eight runs, capitalized by a Urias grand slam. Victor Caratini homered in the ninth to end the aerial attack against the Pirates that needed a close play in the bottom of the eighth to push across their second run already down 17-2.
Burnes allowed just a run and a hit on the evening while walking four and striking out five in the Brewers' victory.
The two teams match up again tomorrow at 3:05 p.m.
