The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Minnesota Twins 6-3 Tuesday night in the Twin Cities as Josh Hader picked up his 27th save of the season.
The Brewers jumped on starting pitcher Josh Winder in the first inning on a two-run home run by Andrew McCutchen before the Twins tied the game at 2-2 in the fourth inning.
Powered by a two-run home run by Willy Admades, the Brewers recaptured the lead for good with a three-run fifth inning.
Jason Alexander started for the Brewers and went four innings allowing three hits and two earned runs. Jandel Gustave (2-0) pitched a scoreless inning in the fifth to pick up the win.
MIlwaukee (49-39) and Minnesota (48-41) will play the second of short the two-game series Wednesday afternoon at 12:10 from Target Field, before the Brewers head west to San Francisco for a four game series with the Giants before the All-Star break.
