There was no late-game magic in the Milwaukee Brewers' finale against the Colorado Rockies Monday night, falling 2-0.
An Elias Diaz homer in the third and a run-scoring out off the bat of Yonathan Daza in the fifth were the only runs scored for the Rockies. The Brewers were handcuffed by Rockies pitcher Kyle Freeland, who went seven innings while allowing four hits and striking out seven. Aaron Ashby was the hard-luck pitcher after recently signing an extension with the Brewers. He struck out nine across seven innings of work, giving up the two runs.
The Brewers open a series against the Minnesota Twins Tuesday evening at 7:10 p.m.
