Over 8K attend Packers shareholders meeting

Suits and ties were not required for Monday's shareholders' meeting for the Green Bay Packers.

The biggest news dropped during the meeting itself was President/CEO Mark Murphy's confidence that the Packers will host the NFL draft in 2025 or 2027. The team is not placing a bid for the 2026 edition of the event because it is hosting the Wisconsin/Notre Dame football game in the fall.

The meeting also featured updates on the roster, the Titletown development, ongoing stadium and facilities improvements, and the team's charitable efforts. The 8,428 attendees are the most in several years due to the pandemic. It was the first meeting for several attendees as the team added over 177,000 owners after wrapping up its latest stock sale earlier this year.

Reports surfaced later in the day that the Packers' hierarchy of GM Brian Gutekunst, Director of Football Operations Russ Ball, and coach Matt LaFleur all had their contracts extended by the organization.
