Sister Bay looks to make its case for a number two seed in the Door County Baseball League playoffs on Friday when it travels to Institute.
After being held to a single hit by Egg Harbor’s starting pitcher Alex Byrne over five innings, the Bay rallied for two runs and four hits in the sixth inning to take the lead they would not relinquish en route to a 7-0 victory over the Indians last week. The Bays erupted for five runs on four hits in the seventh inning, including a two-run single by Sam Forkert, to pull away. A Bays win and a West Jacksonport loss would clinch a home playoff game as the number two seed behind regular season champion
The Cubs toppled Maplewood last week 4-2, ending the playoff hopes for the Mets. It was the second time they beat the Mets this season and hope to play spoiler again this week.
