Bays sail into the mystic, second place on 105.1 The GOAT

The Sister Bay Bays clinched at least a share of second place in the Door County Baseball League with a 5-1 victory over Institute Friday night.

Institute was trying to play the role of spoiler and make the Bays have to play in a tie-breaking playoff game the following week if West Jacksonport comes away with a win this weekend.

It was a real pitching duel for the first half of the game.  The Bays scored the game's first run in the second inning on a Stu Larson RBI.  The score remained 1-0 until the 4th inning when Sister Bay was able to get a couple more runs on RBI hits from Spencer Krause and Griffin Cole plus a sacrifice fly from Alex Laughlin.  Three runs in the top of the 5th gave the Bays a 4-0 lead until the 6th inning when the Cubs got their first run on an RBI hit by Kyle Ploor.

Soon after that, the fog rolled in very heavy and the game was called in the 7th.  The fog was thick enough that we couldn't see any of the outfielders, and the second baseman was also starting to disappear.

105.1 The GOAT's final regular season broadcast will be at Kolberg as the Braves look to keep Baileys Harbor winless on the season. Pregame starts at 1 p.m. followed by the first pitch at 1:30 p.m. Quinn Struck and Jacob Nate will be on the call.
