Love to start preseason opener

It will not be Aaron Rodgers starting at quarterback for the Green Bay Packers.

Head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters on Monday that Jordan Love would be the one behind center for the Packers when they face the San Francisco 49ers this Friday night. Love's stock has been rising during the early going of camp. During last Friday's Family Night, he was the only quarterback to get the ball into the hoop set up in the endzone corner and he also tossed a few touchdown passes as well.

LaFleur also told reporters that Darnell Savage is likely out this week after tweaking his hamstring during Family Night.

The Packers will have one more practice open to the public before Friday's game. According to the Packers training camp schedule posted online, they only have two practices open to the public after this week. Those, however, will be combined practices with the New Orleans Saints.
