Eric Lauer was great, but two mistakes and a lack of offense sent the Milwaukee Brewers to another loss against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.
Lauer shut down the Dodgers for five innings, but a sixth-inning solo shot by Austin Barnes and another one in the seventh by Max Muncy proved to be the difference in the defeat. Christian Yelich's RBI single was all the Brewers could muster in a four-hit game for the home team.
Both teams' pitchers went seven innings, but the Dodgers' Tony Gonsolin held the upper hand. He struck out eight across his seven shutout innings to improve to 15-1 on the season.
The two teams wrap up their series at American Family Field at 1:10 p.m. Thursday.
