Southern Door blanks Oostburg

Southern Door started their season off on a high note by blanking the Flying Dutchmen of Oostburg 27-0 in Oostburg.

That win was win number one as an Eagle for new head coach Mark Jonas, as he stepped in this past season. The defense was stifling all night, as the offense for Oostburg was unable to move the ball down the field and turn possessions into points.

Drew Daoust impressed in his first game as Quarterback this season, completing 90% of his passes, and throwing for 226 yards and 2 touchdowns. Daoust finished the game with a perfect passer rating of 158.3. On the defensive side of the ball, Taylor Schaefer lived up to his preseason hype, as he finished with 10 total tackles on the night.

Southern Door will shift their focus onto Week 2 as they will play under their home lights for the first time this season as they will be hosting the Lions of Lomira at Southern Door. Lomira won their week one contest by a score of 56-7 against Horicon/Hustisford. The Lions rushed for a total of 337 yards and 8 touchdowns on the ground in that game.
