Volleyball teams hit tournament circuit for weekend

The area's volleyball teams will face stiff competition as they travel across the state for tournaments.


Luxemburg-Casco will start their state title defense in Sun Prairie where they will face the likes of Beaver Dam, De Pere, DeForest, Manitowoc Lincoln, Marshfield, Sun Prairie East, Sun Prairie West, Watertown, Waupun and Wrightstown. Action begins at 10 a.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday.


Sevastopol's road to another regional title continues on Friday in Wisconsin Dells as they compete in a tournament featuring Kewaskum, Rhinelander, Aquinas, Oshkosh North, Antigo, Altoona, Wisconsin Dells, Bruce, Clintonville, Dodgeland, Fall River, Peshtigo, Prairie du Chien, Random Lake, Ripon, Riverdale, Shawano Community, Sheboygan North, Waunakee, Wittenberg-Birnamwood, Royall, Rio, and Lake Mills. The first match time is to be determined.


Algoma continues its tournament action in Reedsville at 8:30 a.m. against teams such as Chilton, Kiel, Mishicot, Ozaukee, Roncalli, and Winnebago Lutheran Academy.


Gibraltar begins its tournament action at Central Wisconsin Christian as they face Parkview, Living Word Lutheran, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, Hustisford, North Fond du Lac, Sheboygan Lutheran, Sheboygan Christian, Laona-Wabeno, Crandon, and
Deerfield. The first serve is at 1 p.m. and continues on Saturday at 9 a.m.


Kewaunee heads to Hilbert to compete against Brillion, Cambria-Friesland, Kohler, and Valders. Tournament play begins at 9 a.m.


Southern Door will have to wait until Saturday for their tournament action. They play at Green Bay East, where Auburndale, Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran, Menasha, New London, Plymouth, and Shiocton will also be competing.
