The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans scored on all but one of their first eight possessions in the first half on the way to dominating the Seymour Thunder 56-6 Friday night in Luxemburg.
Quarterback Max Ronsman started the onslaught of scoring with a 39-yard run and ran in a two-point conversion to give the Spartans an 8-0 lead with 10:56 left in the first quarter. Ronsman then hit Ryan Routhieaux on a 45-yard strike with 8:57 left in the quarter to give L-C a 15-0 lead. A 13-yard touchdown run by Routhieaux extended the lead to 22-0 and the Spartans cruised to the easy win.
Ronsman scored three rushing touchdowns and passed for two more. Routhieaux was the player of the game with two interceptions, including one returned 40 yards for a touchdown, while adding a rushing and receiving score.
The Spartans (2-0) will now travel to Appleton to face the Xavier Hawks next Friday night. Pregame on 104.1 WRLU will begin at 6:45 pm with kickoff at 7pm. Paul Schmitt and Reece Robillard will have the call that will also be streamed on NewRadioSportsNetwork.com.
