Clippers own 2nd half, win on 103.3 The Clipper

Sturgeon Bay vs Marinette was a tale of two halves for the Clippers, as they came out with a 49-27 win over the Marines.

The Clippers went down to a 7-0 hole once again this game, but was able to fight back to tie it back up at 7. After a couple of turnovers and scores, the Clippers found themselves down 21-12 with around a minute to play.

Patrick Haese was able to find the end zone for the Clippers, and then picked off Ethan Doubeck to set up a potential go-ahead touchdown to go into halftime. The Clippers got two chances, but were unable to connect after a holding penalty brought back the touchdown scored, and a ball thrown into the hands of Kaden Lettie and dropped made it 21-20 going into half.

That is when it turned for the Clippers, as Coach Carl Waterstreet said some magic words to the team at the half to make it all Sturgeon Bay in the second half. Sturgeon Bay scored 14 unanswered before a Marines kick return. That kick return was responded with a Patrick Haese kick return for a touchdown to put Sturgeon Bay ahead for good and ended the game with a 49-27 win over the Marinette Marines.

The player of the game was Patrick Haese, making a huge impact all over the field with a touchdown, interception and kickoff return for a TD.

Sturgeon Bay moves to 2-2 on the season and 1-1 in the Packerland conference this season after beating Marinette.
