For the second straight season, the Green Bay Packers will spend the week after their season opener asking a lot of questions after losing to the Minnesota Vikings 23-7 Monday afternoon.
The Vikings struck early and often thanks to their star wide receiver Justin Jefferson as the Packers sparingly put their best cover corner on him in Jaire Alexander. Jefferson took full advantage, catching the Vikings' two first-half touchdowns to send his team to a 17-0 lead at the break. It was not without opportunities for the Packers, which saw Christian Watson drop a for-sure touchdown on their first offensive play of the year and the team fail to score a touchdown from the one-yard line.
A.J. Dillon scored the Packers' only touchdown of the day late in the third quarter to make it 20-7 following Aaron Rodgers' second turnover of the day on the previous drive. The reigning MVP also threw a first-half interception en route to 67.7 quarterback rating.
The Packers will have a week to answer those questions before hosting the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football.
