The Milwaukee Brewers had the homestand they needed to have after beating the Cincinnati Reds 7-6 on Sunday afternoon.
Rowdy Tellez got things going for the Brewers with a two-run double in the first inning, only to have it matched in the top half of the second inning on a pair of Reds singles. Tellez would strike again in the home half of the second inning, slugging his 29th homer of the season to cap off a four-run frame that included a Christian Yelich RBI hit and a Willy Adames home run. Tellez's 30th homer of the season proved to be important as the Reds would charge back with two runs in the seventh and ninth innings. Brewers closer Devin Williams was able to hold back the tide as he earned his 12th save of the season.
The Brewers will have Monday off as they prepare for a three-game set against the division-leading St. Louis Cardinals.
