A two-run home run by Andrew McCutchen in the fifth-inning propelled the Milwaukee Brewers to a 8-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday night.
The Brewers and Cardinals slugged it out in the first two innings as the game was tied 4-4 with Milwaukee using eight pitchers throughout the game.
Luis Perdomo (2-0) picked up the win going three innings and allowing just one run on three hits.
From there, the rest of the bullpen did not give up a hit and allowed just one walk in the last four innnings.
Wily Adames had a single and a double with two RBIs to bolster the Brewer attack.
The two teams will face off again Wednesday at Busch Stadium with first pitch set for 6:40pm.
The Brewers trail the Cardinals by seven games in the NL Central and are 1.5 games out of the Wild Card race with 20 games to go in the season.
