Spartans volleyball takes 21st at Charger Invite

The results may not show it according to head coach Jeff Frey, but the Luxemburg-Casco volleyball had a good weekend in Milwaukee.

 

The Spartans took 21st at the Charger Invitational, held at the Milwaukee Sting Center. The results were mixed during the course of the weekend with the squad going 2-3 in tournament play.

 

Pool Play:

Lost to Divine Savior Holy Angel 22-25, 18-25

Lost to Kettle Moraine 6-25, 24-26

Beat Sun Prairie East 25-19, 25-12

 

Bronze Bracket

Lost to Kimberly 25-12, 23-25, 11-15

Beat Franklin 26-24, 25-21

 

Leading the way for the Spartans were Alayna Deprez (101 assists, 34 digs), Autumn Flynn (35 kills), Cami Onell (31 kills), Kylie Hanson (27 kills, 25 digs), and  Brooke VandeHei (52 digs).

 

Reflecting on the weekend, Frey said, "the overall record of the weekend won't show it, but I thought we did a lot of really good things this weekend and played some good volleyball against some great competition. I like the growth we keep showing each week, it's exciting to see."
