Benesh inducted into WBCA Hall of Fame

The late Jim Benesh got his due over the weekend as he was officially inducted into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Over a dozen friends and family members celebrated Benesh's legacy at the event's ceremony held in Wisconsin Dells.

Benesh passed away in February after a battle with multiple myeloma. According to his obituary, Jim coached cross country, football, softball, and both girls and boys basketball. His longest position as head coach was with the boys' basketball program, which he began in 1995. The boys had plenty of big seasons and won several Packerland Conference Championships. Under Head Coach Benesh, Sturgeon Bay Boys Basketball won more than 400 games.
