The Wisconsin Badgers football coach will go from one alum with the reins to another after announcing the dismissal of head coach Paul Chryst Sunday afternoon.
Chryst was fired after back-to-back blowout losses to Ohio State and Illinois and a 2-3 start to the 2022 season. Despite his 2022 struggles, he departs a program he helped resurrect after the Gary Andersen tenure, finishing 67-26 in seven-plus seasons at Wisconsin while leading the Badgers to several Big Ten championship games and bowl victories.
Defensive coordinator and former Wisconsin All-American Jim Leonhard will take over as interim head coach as they prepare for their Saturday matchup against the Northwestern Wildcats.
