Clippers Soccer looks good for parents night and handles Algoma

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers Soccer team started strong with parents watching, and so did the Algoma Wolves in a battle that began from the opening whistle. The Clippers held most of the possession for the first half, but the Wolves applied the pressure needed to keep it close. Robert Alas started the scoring in the 12th minute with an unassisted goal followed by the "goal of the night," according to Peter Kerwin, from Ben Hooker in the 32nd, assisted by Jules Reynolds. The Clippers led 2-0 going into halftime, and the scoring would continue in the second half, despite the outstanding play from Algoma's Keeper, Younk. Alas found the net in the 44th minute (Gigstead assist). A PK was awarded when Klotz was fouled in the box, and Johnny Hubbard buried it in the back of the net in the 54th minute. Jules Reynolds capped the scoring, assisted by Porter Gigstead) in the 67th, and that's how the game would end, 5-0.

The Clippers travel to the Green Bay on Thursday to take on GB NEW Lutheran. That game will start at 4 pm and be covered on 103.3 The Clipper.
