Packers fade in London debut, lose to Giants

The Green Bay Packers held a 17-3 lead, only to see it disappear along with its running game in a 27-22 loss to the New York Giants at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London Sunday morning.

The Packers scored the first 10 points of the game on a Mason Crosby field goal and a touchdown pass to Allen Lazard from Aaron Rodgers. The Packers responded to a Giants field goal with Rodgers spinning into a throw to Marcedes Lewis to make it 17-3. The defense started to disappear after that, allowing the Giants to score on five consecutive drives while the Packers' offense could only muster a field goal and an unforced safety the rest of the way.

The Giants, unlike the Packers, used their rushing attack to capture the lead, with Saquon Barkley scoring the winning touchdown after setting it up on a long pass play from the injured Daniel Jones.

The Packers will have to recover from jet lag to see if they can muster a better effort against New York's other team in the Jets, which visit Lambeau Field on Sunday for a noon kick.
