DCU opens busy week with Marinette

The Door County United will swim twice this week both at the Door County YMCA. Tuesday night (10/11/22) as they compete against Marinette High School and Thursday night (10/13/22) against Seymour High School.

They remain undefeated this season with their win over Pulaski High School on 10/6/22. DCU scored 118 points, and Pulaski scored 62 points. There was no junior varsity competition from Pulaski, however, the DCU junior varsity team was very successful. Kayleigh Erickson (SDHS) completed the junior varsity 100-yard fly for the first time ever in a high school competition. Rose Schommer (SBHS) had a best time in the 50-yard freestyle for the junior varsity as well. As for the varsity events, DCU finished first in each event. Cassie Rankin (SEV), Julia Michalski (SBHS) and Christy Braun (SBHS) all finished first in their individual events of the evening, scoring the most points for the team. Danica Neville (SDHS) assisted the varsity team with a best time this season in the 100-yard fly, resulting in a 3rd-place finish overall. Molly Hall (SDHS) and Paula Wienke (SBHS) completed the 500-yard freestyle for the varsity team, both finishing well under 8:00.  The girls are working extremely hard this season and their success continues.

Action begins on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
