The Sturgeon Bay Clippers were unable to get anything going in a crushing loss to the Kewaunee Storm 71-6.
The Storm’s running game scored early and often in this game, totaling over 400 yards on the ground throughout the game. A combination of Kavon Zokan, Owen Carlson, Jesse Morales Hernandez, and Mitchell Thompson all had huge games running the football. Carlson impacted the game on all levels, in the special teams, and in the receiving game. The Storm reached the 71 mark after going for two with two minutes left in the fourth quarter, and that was all for the rest of the game.
For Sturgeon Bay, David Zuehlke was able to get into the endzone, but that was all for the offense. The defense was not able to stop the high powered Kewaunee offense for the second time this season, and it was a tough loss to end their season. A strong showing for a young Clippers team coming off of a trip from 8 Player football has nothing to hang their heads on and will be a conference contender come next season.
The Kewaunee Storm will play host to the 6 seeded Kiel Raiders, a matchup from week one of the season. That game will be covered on U102.1 and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com.
