The Sturgeon Bay Clippers will play host to the Kiel Raiders in a WIAA sectional semifinal match at Clark Field Thursday night.
Sturgeon Bay is coming off of a match against the Wrightstown Tigers were they narrowly escaped, winning that one 3-2 in a last second goal by Robert Alas to escape and clinch a regional championship. The Clippers will host Kiel, who they took on earlier in the season, as they were able to defeat the Raiders 3-2 in Kiel. The Clippers, with a win, would be one game away from state with a potential matchup against the team that knocked them out last year, Sheboygan Christian/Sheboygan Lutheran.
Kiel is coming off of a 2-0 win over St. Mary's Catholic after a good season overall. If they were to upset Sturgeon Bay, they would have a sectional final home match as that is the scheduled sectional neutral field site. The Raiders will have a big test against the Clippers though however, who are hungry for a state trip.
The broadcast will air on U102.1 and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com with pregame beginning at 6:45 and first touch scheduled for 7:00.
