They are short on the details, but the Green Bay Phoenix did in fact win their exhibition openers earlier this week.
The Phoenix men were slow out of the gate but eventually beat St. Norbert 50-45. The Green Knights led the Phoenix 22-20 at halftime and tied the game again at 42-42 with 3:54 left. A late three by the Phoenix gave them the momentum to prevail in the end. Individual statistics were not shared.
The Phoenix women had a little more success against their in-state, Division III opponent as they beat UW-Oshkosh 83-51. The game featured some local flavor as Luxemburg-Casco alums Cassie Schiltz (Green Bay) and Jenna Jorgenson (UWO) got the opportunity to play against each other. No stats from the game were shared.
Both teams will end their exhibition slate with home games against Michigan Tech on November 2nd (women's) and November 3rd (men's).
