Storm travel to Eagles with regional title in sights on U-1021

The Kewaunee Storm and Southern Door Eagles will get ready to tango for a second time this season, as this time it will be for a regional title and to be one game away from the state tournament in Madison.

The Storm has gone through two familiar opponents to get to this point, as they defeated conference opponent Sturgeon Bay 71-6 in the first round and then the Kiel Raiders 27-13, who they had defeated in week one. Now another familiar foe, the team that gave Kewaunee their only loss on the season, Southern Door. The Eagles snuck a win against the Storm 19-14 back on October 7th in Brussels. Kewaunee has been a better defensive team since that game, so the Storm will go in looking to get their revenge and punch their ticket to Sectionals for the first time since 2013, where they lost to state runner-up Lancaster.

Southern Door has seen some unfamiliar opponents this season: they took down the Brillion Lions 49-0 and the Chilton Tigers 34-7 on their way to the matchup against the Storm. The Eagles have not been to the sectional semifinal round since their 1989 state championship season, so they will be looking to remake history this Friday. Zack Lynch has burst onto the scene this season, as he has run for 1,357 yards and 21 touchdowns on the year. Lynch was able to run for 122 yards against the Storm and will look to run over the Storm once again in this matchup.

Gary Barta and Henry Annen will have coverage from Southern Door Friday night on U102.1 and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com. Pregame will begin at 6:45, with kickoff set for 7:00.
