Badgers prepare for Brew City Battle

The Wisconsin Badgers mens and womens teams will hit the court, on the diamond. The Brew City Battle will take place Friday night with two games being played on the night at American Family Field in Milwaukee.

The 1-0 Wisconsin Badgers women’s team will take on the Kansas State Wildcats at 3:30 in the first game of the night. The Badgers are coming off of a 58-49 win over the UW-Milwaukee Panthers on the road on Monday night. The Badgers were defeated by those same Panthers in last season's matchup, so Head Coach Marisa Moseley’s second season as coach has gotten off to a great start.

The Wildcats also started their season with a victory, in a forty point fashion as they defeated Central Arkansas 83-43 on Monday as well. A strong matchup is brewing for the first game of the Brew City Battle.

The nightcap features the 1-0 Wisconsin Badgers men's team taking on the Stanford Cardinal. Wisconsin was able to take down South Dakota on Monday night 85-59 by way of multiple starters ending up in double figures, and hard fought defense in the second half. The Badgers will look to get out to a 2-0 start before they take on Dayton and Kansas/NC State in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.

The Stanford Cardinal avoided a late game surge from Pacific to take home a season opening victory 88-78. Stanford’s transfer Michael Jones scored 31 in his Cardinal debut after Jones spent last season in a Davidson uniform.

The men's game will follow the women’s matchup, and is expected to begin at 7:00 P.M.
