The Wisconsin Badgers' hopes for the Big Ten West title were all but dashed on Saturday with a 24-10 loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes.
The Badgers' defense held the Iowa offense to less than 150 total yards and registered six sacks, but the Hawkeyes blocked a punt to set up one short touchdown drive and had an interception return for a touchdown to drive their point production. Graham Mertz threw for just 176 yards and a score while getting intercepted twice. The Badgers scored their lone touchdown when Mertz found Keontez Lewis for a 51-yard touchdown pass. Braelon Allen was controlled on the ground, gaining less than 50 yards on 17 carries.
The Badgers will need some help if they still want to win the West, but first they will have to beat Nebraska in Lincoln next week.
