Phoenix, Badgers renew in-state pleasantries

An one-sided in-state rivalry returns on Tuesday when they Wisconsin Badgers host the Green Bay Phoenix.

The Phoenix have been Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in its two games this season against Indiana State and Georgetown. After trailing by a combined 5 points after the first half, they have been outscored by 56 points in the second half. In their recent game against the Hoyas, they allowed their opponents to knockdown their first seven shots from the field in the second half en route to a 92-58 loss.

The Badgers have won their two games against South Dakota at the Kohl Center and Stanford at American Family Field in Milwaukee. Tyler Wahl led the way with 17 points while two other players had double figures.

It has been a one-sided rivalry since the beginning, especially since Will Ryan began battling the school most associated with his father Bo Ryan. The Badgers are 26-1 all-time against the Phoenix, having won the last 11 games and undefeated in games south of Appleton. To add insult to injury, the Badgers have won their last two games by a combined 78 points, including a 72-34 loss last season.

Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
