DCY Swim Team Wins the YMCA Finalist Invitational

At the YMCA FINALIST Meet held this past weekend at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer WI, The DCY SWIM Team WON the Invitational, outswimming all Y Wisconsin teams and a large team from Illinois. 50 of our 135 swimmers participated, including 2 swimmers that hadn’t participated in a meet before.

This is a great measure of our program and a tremendous team accomplishment. This is only the 2nd time we have ever won this meet. The depth of our program was displayed in this three-day meet with swimmers in all age groups that scored. DCY Swim Team had 45 Personal Best times recorded, and our top finishes were our 1st Place 8-under boys 100 yard free relay and our 9-10 Boys 200 yard free and medley relays.

For each meet the coaches chose a Performance Swimmer and a Character Swimmer .  Aiden Schley was the Performance swimmer of the meet, placing 1st or 2nd in all of his events and scoring the most points for the team. The Character Award goes to Daylia Sund, for selflessly guiding and encouraging all of our younger swimmers, when she wasn’t performing in the pool herself.  Our next meet will be the DCY Jingle Bell Meet on Saturday, December 17th in the Carla and Ellsworth Peterson Aquatic center, at the Sturgeon Bay Program Center. This all-day event will also be celebrating Max McHugh's incredible collegiate success with a personal visit and autograph session with Max at 10 AM.
