Successful Striver Gymnastics Weekend

The Door County YMCA Strivers Gymnastic Team competed in the Fond Du Lac "Candy Cane" Invitational this past weekend.  A total of 16 YMCA Gymnastics Teams from Wisconsin participated in the competition. The Striver Team had a very successful weekend returning home with a Team Trophy and 30 individual event medals.

 

The Excel Platinum Team captured a Team win scoring 71.10. Placing individually for the Platinum Team were:

 

Shaylyn Asher:  1st on bars, 2nd in all around and floor.

Alexa Jumenez-Seyfer:  2nd on vault and bars.

Amelia Zoschke: 1st in all around, floor, vault and beam.

 

The Excel Silver Team placed 4th out of 10 teams.

Medaling for the Strivers were:

 

Delaney Allen:  3rd in the all around, 4th on bars and vault.

Ellie Kelsey:  2nd on beam.

Greta Virgin:  1st on beam, 6th on floor and vault.

Keira Clark: 6th in the all around, 4th on floor and beam.

Lauren Gaida: 2nd in the all around and vault, 3rd on bars and 4th on floor.

Evelynn Kelsey: 3rd on bars, 5th in the all around and 6th on beam.

 

The Level 6 team competed with three girls and placed 8th as a team. 

Medaling individually were:

Portia Hah:  9th on bars.

Amira Anschutz:  5th in the all around, 6th on bars, 7th on vault and 11th on beam.

Estelle Duerst: 10th on bars and 11th on beam.

 

The Striver Team heads to Menominee Michigan this weekend for the M&M "Pink" Invitational. 

 

The Team is coached by Nikki Pollman, Gerritt DeJonge and Heather Haese.
