Spartans wrestlers slay Vikings, head to Minnesota Christmas Tournament Friday

The Luxemburg-Casco wrestling team boarded their bus to Rochester, Minn. in a happy mood after defeating Denmark 57-12 in NEC action Thursday night.

 

The Spartans won their first four matches on three falls and a technical fall before the Vikings could put their first points of the match on the board. Ten of the 13  contested bouts were won by the Spartans, with Blakelee Bastien, Easton Worachek, Caleb Delebreau, Jake Jandrin, Michael Bostwick, and Reese Barbiaux pinning their opponents.

138: Easton Worachek LC pinned Dominic Swetlik :17.

160: Ryan Routhieaux LC dec. Carson Peterson 12-1. 

170: Sam Schutz LC dec. Thomas Ullmer 9-8. 

182: Trace Schoenebeck LC won by forfeit. 

195: Ezra Waege LC dec. Luke St. Peter 7-3.

The Spartans will compete in the Minnesota Christmas Tournament beginning at noon on Friday. Last year, the Spartans took 12th place with 101 points scored. Max Ronsman was the top finisher for the Spartans with a win in the fifth place match.
