The area's wrestling teams will head to arenas this week to take on some of the region's top teams in a pair of wrestling tournaments.
Luxemburg-Casco will face some of the top teams in Wisconsin and Minnesota beginning on Thursday at the Bi-State Classic hosted by Holmen High School at the LaCrosse Center. The Spartans will face wrestlers from Adams-Friendship, Aquinas, Athens, Auburndale, Baraboo, Bay Port, Belmont, Bloomington Kennedy, Boscobel, Caledonia Area Public Schools, Cannon Falls, Cashton, Chatfield, Cuba City, DC Everest, DeSoto, Dodgeville, Eastview, Evansville, Gale Ettrick Trempealeau, Goodhue, Hastings, Holmen, Hudson, Iowa-Grant, Ithaca, Kickapoo, La Crescent-Hokah, La Crosse Central, Lancaster, Lewiston-Altura, Lodi, Logan, Marshfield, Mauston, Medford (WI), Mineral Point, Monroe, Mount Horeb, Nekoosa, New Lisbon, New Richmond, North Crawford, Oconto Falls, Orono, Port Washington, Prairie du Chien, Pulaski, Richland Center, River Valley, Riverdale, Royall, Sheboygan Falls, South St. Paul, Sparta, Spencer, Stanley-Boyd, Stoughton, Stratford, Tomah, Verona Area, Viroqua, Waunakee, Wausau West, West Salem, Westby Area, Winona Senior, and Zumbrota-Mazeppa at the tournament beginning at 9 a.m.
Southern Door, Kewaunee, and Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol will kick off their tournaments at the same time, albeit at a closer venue at the Lourdes Academy On the Water Tournament hosted at UW-Oshkosh. Other teams competing in the tournament beginning at 9 a.m. include Wisconsin Lutheran, Chippewa Falls, Hartford Union High School, Muskego, Watertown, West Bend West, Stevens Point (SPASH). Oshkosh North, Neenah, Menasha, Oshkosh West, Antigo, Mosinee, Germantown, Suring, West De Pere, Valders, Pittsville, Amherst, Ashwaubenon, Athens, Bonduel, Brillion, Brookfield Central, Campbellsport, Chilton High School, Coleman, Elcho, Green Bay Preble, Green Bay West, Hortonville, Kiel, Laconia, Lena, Manawa, Lomira, Mishicot, Monona Grove, Omro, Peshtigo, Plymouth School District, Random Lake, Shawano Community, Shiocton, Laona-Wabeno, Waterloo, Wautoma, West Allis Central, West Allis Nathan Hale, Winneconne, and Wittenberg-Birnamwood.
