Crowl's career night pushes Badgers over Broncos

The scoring ability of center Steven Crowl was on full display tonight as the Wisconsin Badgers shook off the rust of a long break in a 76-66 victory over the Western Michigan Broncos.

The Badgers were in for a fight throughout the first half as they scored 14 of the first 17 to open up the ball game. Max Klesmit and Chucky Hepburn would lead the Badgers throughout the first half, as both teams were efficient throughout the game, shooting over 40% from three on the night. Going into half the Badgers only clinged to a 2 point lead however.

Then came along Steven Crowl, who scored the first five points of the second half, which was five of his career high 25 points he had on the night. Two ferocious dunks later from Crowl, one coming on an alley-oop from Chucky Hepburn,  and Wisconsin had the lead up to as much as 16 with 5 minutes to play. The Broncos would stay around and hit late in the shot clock threes all night to keep them within reach, but it was all but over in the second half as Wisconsin was in control.

The Badgers will hit the floor next as they take on their rivals Minnesota at home on January 3rd.
