The Green Bay Phoenix basketball teams will head out-of-state for their matchups this weekend as they continue Horizon League play.
The Phoenix men will wrap up their current road trip with a visit to IPFW in Fort Wayne, Ind., on Thursday at 6 p.m. and Cleveland State in Ohio for a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday. The Phoenix was swept during their road trip to the Detroit-area for New Year's. On December 31st, Randy Tucker poured in 17 points and Cade Meyer added 11 points in an 81-65 loss to Oakland University. IPFW is 10-5 overall (2-2 HL) to begin the season while Cleveland State is 8-7 (3-1 HL).
The Phoenix women won both of their Detroit-centric matchups last weekend, including an 80-33 victory over Detroit-Mercy. Four players were in double figures for the Phoenix in the contest that saw Sydney Levy get a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. They will battle Wright State in Dayton, Ohio on Thursday at 5 p.m. and Northern Kentucky on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Raiders are in the middle of a 11-game losing streak as they have stumbled to 1-13 (0-4 HL) start while the Norse are 8-5 (2-2 HL) on the season.
