In the end, it was that Detroit Lions team that beat the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night 20-16, ending not just a dream run toward the playoffs but potentially the career of Aaron Rodgers in the green and gold.
It was a half of missed opportunities for the Packers as they traded touchdowns for field goals early to build a 9-3 lead. The last best chance of a Packers score in the first half was fumbled away by Aaron Jones, an opportunity the Lions would not waste as they kicked a field goal as time expired to make it 9-6.
After trading punts, the Lions' Jamaal Williams scored the first of his two touchdowns to put his team ahead for the first time in the game. The Packers would retake the lead a drive later with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to Allen Lazard with 3:17 left in the third quarter.
A long drive ending in Williams' second touchdown gave the Lions the lead, effectively ending the season at 20-16. Like his predecessor, the final throw of Rodgers' career with the Packers may have ended with an interception. The Lions would run out the final three minutes on the clock to send the Packers home and the Seahawks, who won their game earlier in the day, to the NFC Playoffs.
Rodgers ended his day with just 205 yards passing with a touchdown and an interception to his name.
