Spartan boys outrun by Foxes on 104.1 WRLU

The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans were blitzed at home by the Fox Valley Lutheran 87-38 on Thursday night in North Eastern Conference action.

The Foxes came out on fire hitting their first six shots and taking a commanding 16-0 lead before Josh Parins hit two free throws about four minutes into the game for the Spartans.

The Foxes would take as big as a 30-point lead in the first half before going into halftime comfortably ahead at 48-22.  Sam Ferge scored 13 of his team-high 24 points in the first half, including three straight three-pointers, to spur the Foxes.  Adam Loberger added 23 more for Fox Valley Lutheran (7-2, 10-3 overall) who put on a clinic at the Spartans’ expense.

Parins paced the Spartans with seven points while Jack Rollin and Lance Cherovsky chipped in six points each.

The Spartans (3-6, 4-9 overall) will now regroup and look to snap a seven-game losing streak when they host the Marinette Marines next Monday night in Luxemburg.  The pregame is set for 6:45 pm on 104.1 WRLU and tip off at 7:00 pm from Luxemburg-Casco High School.  Paul Schmitt and Reece Robillard will have the play-by-play of the game that will also be streamed on New Radio Sports Network.

More boys' basketball action is on tap for Friday night as Gibraltar and Southern Door battle on U-102.1 with Tim Kowols and Gary Barta on the call and Sevastopol playing host to Kewaunee.
