Green Bay women welcome IUPUI

The Green Bay Phoenix wrap up their homestand with a Monday night game against the IUPUI Jaguars.

The Phoenix women provided a welcomed distraction from the discussion locally about Green Bay's men's program as they beat in-state rival Milwaukee 58-40 last Thursday. They outscored the Panthers in the final three quarters, pulling away for good in the fourth as the Phoenix outscored their visitors 18-6 in the fourth frame. Bailey Butler led the Phoenix with 15 points, six assists, five rebounds, and four steals. Jenna Guyer added 12 points off the bench, while Callie Genke chipped in with 10 points and two steals.

The Jaguars are 12-8 on the year and 8-3 in the Horizon League despite losing one of their best players from last year's squad. They beat Milwaukee on Saturday 78-68.

Tip off is set for 7 p.m.

As for the men, their nightmare season continued on Saturday with a 77-46 loss to Wright State. They were well out of it by halftime where they trailed the Raiders 41-16.  Cade Meyer and Randy Tucker each scored 10 points while Clarence Cummings III added eight points in the loss. The Phoenix men will next play at IUPUI on Saturday.
