Phoenix women roll, men look to stop bleeding in Milwaukee

The Green Bay Phoenix women picked up another big win on Sunday while the men hope for different results on Monday.

The Phoenix women outscored the Oakland Golden Grizzlies including 19-10 in the opening frame to beat them 70-50.  Bailey Butler tied her career-high in points with 16 to lead the Phoenix. Sydney Levy and Jasmine Kondrakiewicz each added 14 points, while Cassie Schiltz chipped in 10 points. Levy was able to reach the 1,000 point plateau in her career during the contest, which was the Phoenix's fifth win.

The Phoenix men are looking to snap a 14-game losing streak when they head down I-43 to play Milwaukee. One of their two wins of the season came against IUPUI in December, but the Phoenix lost to the Jaguars 68-53 in a matinee on Saturday.  Cade Meyer led they way with 16 points while Clarence Cummings III finished with 14 points and three rebounds. The Phoenix failed to reach 35 percent shooting while the Jaguars shot over 50 percent from the field. Bart Lundy has guided Milwaukee to a 16-7 record in his first season with the Panthers and had their own problems against IUPUI last Thursday, beating them 72-69. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
