Last-second three-pointers at the end of regulation and overtime by Davin Zeigler ended a lot of misery for the Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team as they beat the Milwaukee Panthers 80-79.
Four Phoenix players hit double-figures on an evening where the Phoenix made a program-record 16 three-pointers. Randy Tucker scored a career-high 20 points while the night's hero Zeigler added 18 points. Brock Heffner chipped in with 17 and Ryan Wade contributed 10 points in the victory. It was a game of runs that saw no team lead by more than double digits.
The drama unfolded late as the Panthers took a three-point lead late in the game. After a missed free throw by the Panthers, Zeigler was able to unload from deep to hit the game-tying shot. Things were similar with the Panthers, this time leading by two points after the Panthers made their free throws. Zeigler once again made something out of nothing and hit the shot with less than a second on the scoreboard.
The win ended a 14 game losing streak this season and it was the first time they beat their I-43 rivals since February 2020, which also was at the UWM Panther Arena.
