Luxemburg-Casco wins Denmark wrestling regional, several others advance

Luxemburg-Casco will advance to Tuesday's team sectional after winning Saturday's Denmark Regional as other local wrestlers advance to next Saturday's action.

 

The Luxemburg-Casco wrestling team will advance to team sectionals after sending 11 of its 14 wrestlers out of the Denmark Regional. Winning their brackets were Michael Bostwick (113), Blakelee Bastien (126), Easton Worachek (132), Caleb Delebreau (138), and Max Ronsman (145). Also advancing to next Saturday's sectional meet were Jake Jandrin (2nd, 106), Isaac Jerabek (2nd, 120), Ryan Routhieaux (3rd, 160), Sam Schutz (4th, 170), Trace Schoenbeck (2nd, 182), and Ezra Waege (4th, 195).

 

All but one of Kewaunee wrestlers advanced out Saturday's Weyauwega-Fremont Regional where the road to Madison started for dozens of grapplers. Finishing in first place were Matt Wery (145), Mitchell Thompson (195), and Mitchell Boeder (285). Kemper Robinson (3rd, 182) and Ezra Ducat (3rd, 220) will join them for the ride to Seymour for next Saturday's sectional meet. Trevor Gauthier (5th, 120), Mitchell VanGoethem (5th, 152) also placed.

 

Two Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol wrestlers will see their seasons get extended by a week after Saturday's Denmark Regional results. Zak Wrobel (3rd, 170) and Ben Roman (2nd, 285) advance to next Saturday's sectional at Wrightstown. Spencer Madsen finished just outside of the sectional berth with a 5th place finish at 126 pounds.

 

Four Southern Door wrestlers are still alive for berths for state after finishing in the top 4 of its regional at Denmark on Saturday. Mason Motquin (3rd, 120), Wyatt Wilke (3rd, 132), Hayden Jeanquart (4th, 160), and Cody Nellis (4th, 182) all punched their ticket to wrestle at Wrightstown next Saturday. Trevor Englebert (5th, 138), Jonas Jandrin (5th, 170), and Thomas Jackson (6th, 195) also placed.
