Boys' basketball round-up: Southern Door hosts Algoma on 103.3 The Clipper

With the playoff bracket right around the corner, the Southern Door Eagles will look to push their overall winning streak to 15 games when the Algoma Wolves come to Brussels Tuesday night.

Southern Door has gone from a lackluster 3-3 start their first six games to rattling off wins pushing their record to 17-3. The Eagles did just sneak by in their last matchup against the Wolves of Algoma back on January 7th by a score of 59-54. Drew Daoust put on one of his best performances of the season, scoring 35 points on 59% shooting from the field. Taylor Schaefer is coming off of a 23 point outburst against Sturgeon Bay last Thursday, and will look to continue his scoring against the Wolves.

Algoma enters their matchup against the Eagles at 7-13 after last nights make up win over the Sevastopol Pioneers. The Wolves have begun to find themselves in games down the stretch of the season, despite three straight losses. The losses come against teams with a combined Packerland record of 26-11 and are all in the top half of the conference. Their guard play has become the main focus of their offense, and they have been getting scoring from three different guards over 10 points in recent games.

Gary Barta and Reece Robillard will be on the call from Brussels on 103.3 The Clipper, 96.7 WBDK HD-2, and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com. The pregame show begins at 7:15 with tipoff set for 7:30 P.M.
