Boys Basketball Roundup: Eagles get senior night win over Wolves on 103.3 The Clipper

A senior night win is a must for any team, but with seven seniors for Southern Door, it was extra important. The Eagles got that done firmly with a 66-51 win over the Algoma Wolves on Tuesday night on 103.3 The Clipper.

Drew Daoust came out firing in the first half from beyond the arc, having his best shooting performance of the season tonight against the Wolves. Within the first few minutes, Daoust and his teammate Jared Hawkey had the Eagles out and racing ahead of Algoma. Whether it was baskets underneath the hoop, or open threes, the Eagles were getting it done on both ends.

Owen Robertson tried to keep the Wolves in the game early, but would not receive much help until later on in the game. Robertson and Parker Lischka would enter the break leading the way in scoring for Algoma with five each in a 16 point first half for the Wolves.

Southern Door would enter halftime leading 35-16 led by Drew Daoust’s 19 points.

The second half would be much of the same from the Southern Door side. Drew Daoust would find Matthew Malvitz multiple times for easy layups, and Daoust would end up finishing the game with 37 points, four away from his season high.

Parker Lischka became a strong scoring option for the Wolves tonight as he led the way with 17 points on five total threes, four coming in the second half.

Southern Door will next be in action on Friday when they make the trip to Gibraltar to take on the Vikings on U102.1

In other Packerland Conference action, the Gibraltar Vikings defeated the Sevastopol Pioneers 64-35 in Institute with Will Friendenfels leading the way with 18 points.

The Kewaunee Storm cruised to an easy 63-34 win over the Peshtigo Bulldogs on the road.

In NEC play, the Luxemburg-Casco Spartans fell to the Little Chute Mustangs in the "battle of the LCs" 68-42 in Luxemburg.  Jack Rollin paced the Spartans with 10 points.
