Wrestlers look to punch tickets to state on Saturday

The Kohl Center is the goal for several area wrestlers as they prepare for the WIAA individual sectional meet on Saturday.

The Luxemburg-Casco wrestling team won their team sectional on Tuesday after sending 11 of its 14 wrestlers out of the Denmark Regional. Winning their brackets were Michael Bostwick (113), Blakelee Bastien (126), Easton Worachek (132), Caleb Delebreau (138), and Max Ronsman (145). Also advancing to Saturday's sectional meet in Wrightstown were Jake Jandrin (2nd, 106), Isaac Jerabek (2nd, 120), Ryan Routhieaux (3rd, 160), Sam Schutz (4th, 170), Trace Schoenbeck (2nd, 182), and Ezra Waege (4th, 195). Two Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol wrestlers will see their seasons get extended by a week after Saturday's Denmark Regional results. Zak Wrobel (3rd, 170) and Ben Roman (2nd, 285) advance to Saturday's sectional at Wrightstown. Four Southern Door wrestlers are still alive for berths for state after finishing in the top 4 of its regional at Denmark on Saturday. Mason Motquin (3rd, 120), Wyatt Wilke (3rd, 132), Hayden Jeanquart (4th, 160), and Cody Nellis (4th, 182) all punched their ticket to wrestle at Wrightstown.

All but one of Kewaunee wrestlers advanced out of last Saturday's Weyauwega-Fremont Regional where the road to Madison started for dozens of grapplers. Finishing in first place were Matt Wery (145), Mitchell Thompson (195), and Mitchell Boeder (285). Kemper Robinson (3rd, 182) and Ezra Ducat (3rd, 220) will join them for the ride to Seymour for next Saturday's sectional meet. The Storm will travel to Seymour for their sectional meet.
