Pioneers girls finish off perfect Packerland slate

The Sevastopol girls' basketball used a familiar recipe to finish off their Packerland Conference season with a perfect record after beating Peshtigo on Saturday 49-21.

The Pioneers halted the Bulldogs' offense, allowing them just 10 points in the opening frame and 11 points in the second frame. Only three players were able to register points for the Bulldogs, including 11 points from Akira Smalls. Only five field goals were allowed by the Pioneers' defense.

The Pioneers' offense had three players reach double figures led by Bailey Rikkola's 15 points. Libby Ash hit a trio of threes en route to an 11-point evening while Kayla Ranly contributed 10 points.

The Pioneers will have a bye on Tuesday and will play a few days later at home on U 102.1
